Sydney Showground is the venue and event management business of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting excellence in agriculture.
Sydney Showground was established in 1998 as a purpose-built home for major events as part of the NSW Government's multi-million dollar development for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Today it is a world-class venue, delivering close to 150 national and international events each year, including music festivals, sporting events, exhibitions, trade shows and the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the flagship event of the RAS and the nation's largest annual ticketed event.
Although part of the RAS, Sydney Showground was not operating as part of the wider corporate digital marketing strategy leaving it left behind in terms of technology and execution. It had a stand alone website that could not be maintained internally and relied heavily on outsourced support for even the simplest content changes.
It’s website, although recently updated was tired and did not reflect the fun and exciting nature of the events which call the Showground home. LEVO’s challenge was to revitalise Sydney Showground’s digital image and empower the team with the tools and resources to be able to maintain, enhance and evolve the website themselves whilst delivering on the brand promise to delivery "Big Experiences".
The new Sydney Showground website uses bright, high impact visuals that align with the brand’s tagline – home of big experiences. The new Sydney Showground website built upon Episerver and hosted on Azure is fully responsive, fully content managed and exposes upcoming event data through a series of APIs to third party websites to drive awareness and increase patronage for its clients. The new Sydney Showground website showcases the venue in a whole new light leveraging 306 degree interative walkthroughs to provide event planners with an unparrelled view of venues prior to booking.
